Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are a challenging time for families of inmates. Your loved one in prison wishes to be with family. Family and children especially, wishes their loved one in prison could be at home. It is a time when families must work extra hard at staying thankful and grateful. Here is a portion of A Thanksgiving Day Prayer taken from a publication of Father Flanagan's Boys' Home piece. Hope it lifts your spirits and points you to the only one who can that, our Father in heaven:
For all Thy help along the way
we're thankful this Thanksgiving Day.
We're thankful too, for all our dear ones,
for all the far away and near ones.
Althought we may be far apart,
we're together in my heart.
Keep us in Thy loving care,
This is my Thanksgiving prayer.
"The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving." - Psm28:7 (NLT)
